Halloween II (2009) review

Here it is, the sequel to the one of my personal favourite horror remakes!  Rob Zombie's Halloween II!  This movie I do believe takes place 1 year after the first film.  This time around, Laurie Strode is suffering from the memories of the events of the first film, and Michael Myers is still on the loose!  Now what can I say about this movie?  Well I can say this is one of those typical sequels where it is nowhere near as good as the first!  This movie isn't bad, but it is quite disappointing compared to the first one.  Let's get to the positives first.  First of all, I think Laurie Strode is more interesting here than she was in the first one.  I liked the fact that she turned crazy, but then again, who wouldn't go crazy after going to that kind of shit.  Malcolm McDowell and Tyler Mane are once again great as Dr. Loomis and Michael Myers!  The kills are amazing in this film as well!  Now let's get into the negatives!  First of all, a lot of the dialogue in this film is absolutely atrocious!  A lot of the time, they would swear their faces off when it didn't make sense to do so. (I know what you guys are saying, Sausage Party, The Wolf of Wall Street, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, Pulp Fiction and Scarface all had a ton of swearing in them, and you love all those movies!)  You guys are right about me absolutely loving those movies to death, and you are also right about them all having a ton of swearing in them, but those movies all had amazing dialogue and sharply written scripts!  Another thing about this movie is that although the character of Laurie Strode is more interesting this time around, but the performance given by the actress is so over the top, that it was distracting at times.  It also unfortunately felt like Brad Dourif was phoning it in in this movie.  And let's talk about Dr. Loomis. Although Malcolm McDowell's performance was excellent in this movie, his character is such a douchebag!  Like my god, I wanted him to die throughout the entire movie, luckily for me, my wish was granted at the end of the movie.  So overall, Halloween II has it's moments, the movie is never boring, it has both good and bad performances, the kills by Michael Myers are absolutely well done, the dialogue a majority of the time is absolutely atrocious and I hated the character of Dr. Loomis this time around.

Halloween (2007) review

Today I am also reviewing less recent movies!  I am reviewing Rob Zombie's Halloween movies!  And here is the first one.  Say what you want about this movie, but I fucking love it!  It works for me as both a fun slasher movie and a hilarious comedy!  And honestly, I prefer this over the original 1978 version!  Why is that exactly?  It is a lot more fun than the original, and it is really not a carbon copy of the original during the first half!  The second half isn't a complete carbon copy either though!  Although it does show a few moments from the original film, it does have it's own twists in it!  I respect Rob Zombie for making this his own movie instead of copying the original scene from scene!  This movie is far more of a psychological horror film than the original film too, which is something I loved as well!  I also loved how this movie really dug deep into the character of Michael Myers!  This movie did a lot of things I absolutely loved!  Now let's get into my favourite thing about this movie, the kills!  The kills are raw, bloody, and brutal!  Every time Michael Myers kills a person, it was some intense stuff!  This is by far the most brutal film in the whole franchise!  I also really loved Malcolm McDowell as Dr. Loomis, he gave the best performance in the whole movie besides Tyler Mane as Michael Myers.  If I have any negatives with the movie, it has to be the first 10 minutes or so.  The first 10 minutes of the movie had some of the most painfully awful dialogue I have ever heard!  But thankfully, the rest of the movie was so great (in my opinion) that it made up for it!  Rob Zombie's Halloween is a solid horror remake, it has awesome kills, awesome performances from Malcolm McDowell and Tyler Mane, and it has a very intriguing story involving Michael Myers! But the first 10 minutes or so was pretty bad!  Fun fact:  The little girl from Halloween 4 and 5 plays Laurie Strode's friend in this movie!

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice review

I honestly do not get the hate for this movie!  I think this movie really works as a superhero movie!  Seriously, I actually love this movie!  This movie had awesome action sequences, good performances (for the most part), and Ben Affleck kicks ass as Batman!  Let's get this straight, Rotten Tomatoes is sometimes very harsh with movies, sometimes even more so than Metacritic, and I think Metacritic is a terrible website!  This movie has a fucking 27% on Rotten Tomatoes!  This movie is not that bad!  This movie was quite excellent and it may end up on my honorable mentions for best movies of 2016!  Before you hate me for saying that, remember, this is my opinion!  Now I didn't care for this movie when I first saw it, but I ended up buying the blu-ray and watching it a few more times and I gotta say, yeah, this movie got better and better every time I watched it!  The special effects for this movie are fantastic, the action was top notch!  And people are complaining about Batman killing people in this movie, but I honestly didn't care, I just liked seeing Batman kicking some ass again!  And my problems with this movie, I have to say that Superman isn't as interesting in this movie as he was in Man of Steel, and Jesse Eisenberg is absolutely AWFUL as Lex Luthor!  So anyways, Batman V Superman was a solid superhero film, Batman was badass, Superman has his moments but didn't stand out, the action was amazing, but Jesse Eisenberg was terrible as Lex Luthor, and I forgot to mention that after Batman and Superman's fight, the conclusion was very forced and idiotic!  Overall, Batman V Superman is a good film!

Fantastic Four (2015) review

So I guess 20th Century Fox will not give the rights to MARVEL yet!  I have to tell you that they should have!  Fant4stic is directed by Josh Trank and stars Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, and Kate Mara.  And it is about 4 teens who invent a machine that can teleport them into different dimensions and when they enter one, a freak accident happens and they suddenly get strange powers.  Sounds interesting right?  Not here it isn't!  This movie was a ginormous trainwreck disaster!  There are no redeeming qualities in this entire film!  This film has piss poor special effects, phoned in acting, a terrible script, and nothing ever happens in this whole 100 minute movie!  There is only one action sequence, at the very end of the movie!  I wanted to like this movie, but I hate it!  And sorry that I don't have much to say about it, this movie gave me nothing to work with!  This is the 2nd worst movie of the decade, and by far the worst movie of 2015!

Run time: 100 minutes

Sausage Party review

Sausage Party is the new R-rated animated comedy made by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.  It features the voice talents of Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, James Franco, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, Craig Robinson, and many more!  Sausage Party was my 3rd most anticipated movie of 2016, just under Captain America: Civil War and Deadpool.  And I gotta say, I haven't laughed this hard since "Bad Grandpa"!  Sausage Party is not only one of the best animated movies of the decade, but it's in my top 5 comedies of the decade!  Sausage Party was a great film!  The film is about a sausage named Frank (voiced by Seth Rogen) who tries to warn the other foods about the truth of their existence.  Not only did Sausage Party have constantly hilarious and raunchy humor, but it also has likable and very memorable characters, clever satire, and a thought provoking story!  I will tell you right now though, don't let your kids watch Sausage Party, it is not appropriate for them!  I saw this film in theaters 3 times, and all 3 times there were kids in the theater!  So in the end, Sausage Party is a flawless, hilariously funny comedy with great animation, witty dialogue and it's overall raunchy fun!

Grade: A+
Run time: 89 minutes
